Let's get started, here I will explain you about generic structure news items, do you know what generic structure is? and what are the structure of news items?🤷‍♀️
let's study it together, here I will immediately explain it.

In detail how is an example of a News Item Text written? The following is an explanation of the Generic Structure of this English news text. Each News Item Text will be arranged based on the Schematic Structure as follows:

1. Newsworthy Event: The Newsworthy event paragraph contains an introduction (orientation) about who, what, where and when about the event. The Newsworthy Event will briefly answer the Who, What, Where, and When of the event that occurs daily.

2. Background Events: The News Item Text Paragraph that contains the Event Background will explain how an event is mentioned in the first paragraph (Newsworthy Event). This is a paragraph that contains the background of events that are used to support writing. Event Background usually consists of several events that are background (backgrond) and written to clarify the chronology of the Newsworthy Event. In brief, Background Events will explain how and why these events.

3. Source: Press paragraphs of a News Item Text containing news sources. Source is a statement originating from the perpetrators or victims of the event, news witnesses, and statements from the authorities in the event.

But in reality the writing of a News Item text is not esteem sequentially as conveyed in the Generic Structure above. There are times when the order is reversed like Source first, then followed by Newsworthy Event, and followed by Background Events. Although not necessarily sequential, an English news article must meet the 3 elements of the structure above.

Indonesia's latest official COVID-19 figures

Newsworthy Event

The Health Ministry announced 1,693 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 88,214.

Backgroud Event

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the ministry’s disease control and prevention di.rector general, Achmad Yurianto, added that 96 more people had died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 4,239.

The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 46,977. The capital city recorded 361 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 16,899. Meanwhile, Central Java reported 354 new cases, East Java 237, South Sulawesi 125, Gorontalo 105 and North Sulawesi 64.
